The U.S. men earned a spot in the 2012 Olympic Games today at the 2012 Visa International Gymnastics event in London. The U.S. women earned a spot at the 2012 World Championships back in November. The United States will have an Olympic selection process leading up to the Olympic Games in August to determine which man and women will represent the U.S. in trampoline. This is the second Olympic Games in a row that the U.S. has qualified both a man and a woman to the Olympic Games.

In the Trampoline preliminary round of competition today at the 2011 World Championships in Birmingham, England, the U.S. women’s trampoline team finished in 5th, which qualifies them for the team finals event tomorrow night. The team is comprised of Dakota Earnest, Alaina Williams and Savannah Vinsant, all three members of Region 3, as well as fellow U.S. teammate Nani Vercruyssen.

In addition, Savannah Vinsant finished in 10th place in the individual results and qualified to the individual finals event on Sunday. This should secure the U.S. women an olympic spot in the 2012 Olympic Games next year as spots are awarded to the countries that qualify for the individual finals event.

Patti has scheduled a course for those needing Safety/Risk Managment Certification. The course will be offered on Sunday, January 9, 2011 at Ready Set Go in Lubbock. USAG requires a minimum of 10 participants in order to conduct this course so all those needing this course are encourage to pre-register online (use course code PC01092011TX) to ensure that we meet the minimum participation.

The USAG Calendar has been updated with events for 2011. All events and dates are currently tentative.
