PLEASE READ THE IMPORTANT UPDATE BELOW
CONCERNING THE REGION 3 NEWSLETTER.
We are excited about the number of people who have signed
up to receive our newsletter, however, the large email list
has created a bit of a problem. Some of you are no doubt
wondering why you have not received any newsletters. Well,
we have been trying to send out newsletters and they have
all come back as undeliverable. It seems that Google, in
doing their part to fight spam, has in place a spam filter
that won't allow us (or anyone else for that matter) to
mass email from a gmail address. Their solution for this
was for us to create a google group for Region 3. This
should allow us to send out updates to a wider audience via
email.
So in order to take advantage of this, you must become a
member of the Region 3 google group. In order to do this,
you must have a google account. Many of you probably do,
but if you do not you can go to www.gmail.com and click
"create an account" to do get one. Your google account is
also tied to a gmail account. This is the email address
where you will receive the Region 3 updates, however, if
you do not wish to use this address to get your updates,
you can have all mail sent to this address automatically
forwarded to any email address you wish (see below for
details).
To get started, create your google account and apply for
membership by going to
http://groups.google.com/group/usag-region3
then click on "apply for membership".

information regarding USAG Region 3.

Steps for setting up your gmail account to forward emails
to another address:
1. Go to www.gmail.com and sign in to your gmail account.
2. Click "Settings" on the top right hand side of the page.
3. Click the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" tab
4. Net to "Forwarding:" select the "Forward a copy of
incoming mail to" circular button and enter the email
address you want your mail forwarded to. Then select the
drop down box next to it that says "keep Gmail's copy in
the Inbox" and choose "archive Gmail's copy". This will
place the email in the "All Mail" folder of your Gmail
account once it has been forwarded and keep your inbox
clean.
5. Click the "Save Changes" button at the bottom.
