Athlete Spotlight: Shaylee Dunavin

Shaylee Dunavin of Trinity Trampoline & Tumbling in Amarillo, Texas competed and medaled in four events at the 2009 Visa Championships earlier this month in Dallas, Texas. Shaylee earned a silver medal in Jr. women’s tumbling and three bronze medals in Jr. women’s trampoline, double-mini, and synchro with Brittany Caddell. Shaylee was also named to the USAG T&T Jr. National Team in all three events. Shaylee will compete next month in the Final Selection Event where she hopes to secure a spot on the U.S. World Age-Group Team that will compete in St. Petersburg, Russia in November.

STTA Athletes compete in Visa Championships

The 2009 Visa Championships , which serves as the National Championships for Jr. & Sr. Elite athletes, was held in Dallas, Texas from August 12-15.

In the Sr. Elite Division, Tony Doles (Lubbock, TX - Upsidedowners) finished fourth in the men’s double-mini event.

In the Jr. Elite Division, medallists include:
- Dakota Earnest (Plains, TX - Acrospirits) with a gold medal in women’s trampoline
- Shaylee Dunavin (Amarillo, TX - Trinity T&T) with a silver medal in women’s tumbling
- Shaylee Dunavin (Amarillo, TX - Trinity T&T) with a bronze medal in women’s trampoline
- Shaylee Dunavin (Amarillo, TX - Trinity T&T) with a bronze medal in women’s double-mini
- Shaylee Dunavin (Amarillo, TX - Trinity T&T) with a bronze medal in women’s synchro
